In a world that never stops moving, the hardest thing to do is often the most necessary: stopping. We treat sleep like a switch we can just flip, but our bodies don’t work that way. To get deep, restorative rest, you have to build a bridge between your busy day and your sleep.
You don’t need an hour of meditation. You just need 15 minutes and a simple ritual to signal to your nervous system that it is time to power down.
1. The Disconnect (Minutes 1–2) First, the phone goes away. Not just face down, but in another room. The blue light from screens mimics daylight and suppresses melatonin, the hormone you need for sleep. Give your brain permission to be offline.
